Buzz of the Week: The NBA Returns

The floodgates open this pass weekend via the social media networks as news spread about the NBA owners and players possibly reaching an agreement. As we all know, the lockout began back in July and it has been a back and forth ordeal ever since. Many athletes were even ready or had already signed contracts to play overseas. Which I might add was paying a substantial amount of money. Nevertheless, the players are allowed to enter the facilities starting December 1. Along with free agency negotiation and the start of training camps scheduled for December 9. Therefore time is very important for all the loose ends to be tied up before anyone changes their minds.

While the executives are squaring away the paperwork, the coaches and staff are gathering for many free agents meetings that are being conducted as we speak. A free agent is a term used when a player whose contract has expired and who has recently "qualifying offer" from his current club or other clubs, which provides a salary level predetermined by the collective bargaining agreement. Hence, the reason that free agent deals will not be official until December 9th because the CBA has not yet been stamped for approval. However, according to SBNation come December 25, the NBA is planning a tentative showed down of electrifying games that includes match up between the Los Angeles Lakers vs. the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks along with three more games being added.

Personally, like many other sports fans, I am truly excited, happy, over zealous about the return of the NBA. I try to keep my personally feelings about the issue hidden and try to have a bias mind. However, if the lockout would’ve reached the year 2012, I wasn't going to be happy camper. Among other supported fans who probably would've lost respect for the players and clubs. Of course it wasn’t a question that stubbornness with a mixture of hardball was the ingredients of the prolonging of this agreement. However, we all glad that they were able to finally reach an agreement and get back to the real focus at hand. The fans and good old fashion game of basketball, let the games begin.
